43 Things You Should Never Buy

Expensive wedding dress

The average wedding dress cost $1,564 in 2016, according to TheKnot.com. Averages lie, of course. You might pay as little as $250 for an off-the-rack wedding dress. But you could also pay anywhere from $2,500 to $25,000. All that money for something you wear once? Dumb. And please don’t tell us that your daughter and maybe your granddaughter will proudly wear the same dress. First of all, they might very well want their own overpriced frocks. Second, $25,000 divided by the three of you = still dumb.
