Set Up a Retirement Paycheck
Instead of giving yourself unlimited access to your retirement fund, you might want to set up a “retirement paycheck.” You can structure regular direct deposits from your investments into your checking account just like a regular paycheck.
You can also have any federal and state taxes automatically taken out of each “paycheck,” which can help you avoid a big tax bill at the end of the year. Many mutual funds offer this service to clients — it is known as a “systematic withdrawal.”
