Mistake No. 2: Not considering travel-related credit cards if you travel a lot
Those who travel a lot might want to rack up points or miles that can be applied toward travel by using travel credit cards.
Some travel credit cards will give you access to VIP lounges in airports, free checked bags(sometimes for everyone in your traveling party), and priority boarding. Many cards offer insurance on some purchases, or extended warranties or theft and damage protection. Some offer trip cancellation insurance, covering claims for prepaid rental car expenses, lodging arrangements, and more — up to $10,000per covered trip. A travel card tied to a particular hotel chain can give you extra discounts and rewards when staying at included hotels. Travel credit cards can be particularly generous in offering hefty sign-up bonuses.
