Mistake No. 16: Ignoring your credit score, especially when it’s freely available
Another common mistake many credit card users make is ignoring their credit score. This is especially lamentable these days, when many credit card issuers offer free access to your credit score, sometimes even including it on your monthly statement. If you’re working on paying off debt and increasing your credit score, take advantage of any availability. Even if you’re not, it’s good to know your score and make sure it’s high so that you’ll get the best interest rates when you want to borrow, such as for a mortgage. Know that you can increase your credit score, too, if need be.
